I did not bring a plug adapter and must charge my galaxy tablet and smart phone.

I tried the power center and electronic store and they looked at me like I had two heads saying. "You have to get that in your country".

Which at this point makes perfect sense but WAHHHHH!

Any suggestions appreciated.

Iwade Kinokawa? Wheredat? Are you trying to say you're in Iwate-ken,
Ichinoseki-shi, Kinokawa Takizawa? (Japanese term for "bumfuk nowhere")?

SOLUTION ONE:

Did you purchase said tablet / smartphone in the US?

And, they didn't come with 100~200V 50/60Hz chargers?

- If they didn't, you should be able to order the Japan-market charger
as a separate unit through Amazon.jp or Rakuten ... or even Yahoo Auctions.

- If they did, why not just order plug adapters from Amazon.jp or
Rakuten or one of their sellers? I know Jonan Denki's Rakuten web store
has them listed ... or did a year ago.

SOLUTION TWO:

Can they be charged via USB? If so, just order an Anker multi-port
adapter from Amazon.jp. It plugs into the wall of your Inaka house and
you plug USB cables into it. The other ends of the USB cables plug into
your Galaxy and smartphone.

Amazon.jp can also sell you the correct USB cables.

Amazon.jp can deliver within 24 hours.

OK I admit it. I don't know how to say where I am.
I am in Wakayama and Iwade.
And somehow Kinokawa.

I plugged it into the usb on a laptop and nothing.
I'm going to order the one on Amazon.

Thanks CL!

South Bumfuk Nowhere, then. You're less than an hour from Namba? There
is a huge Joshin Denki there (or, maybe it's in Nipponbashi, next stop
over). Probably more Joshin Denki closer to where you are. Google is
your friend. Joshin Denki is the most convenient but not the cheapest
solution by a long shot.

Too many variables to solve that over the Internet. You could have a
bad charging port on the laptop, a charging port that is software
switched and isn't turned on, or a bad USB cable.

Separate charger reduces the number of variables. Spend a little extra
for a good heavy duty USB cable. This is one of those times that buying
a name brand over generic is better.

Finally got it charging.

Found a power strip that I had brought from North Carolina last time on the back says 120v
I plugged my charger in and it worked.

Maybe that the power strip bottlenecks the juice.
Hopefully it's not a fire hazard on the tatami.

I am going to try the Joshin Denki too.

Again thanks CL
